Course Description:
This course will provide victim advocates with the most up to date information to assist victims of both child physical and child sexual abuse. In addition to providing statistics, definitions, statutes, and victims’ rights, participants will be introduced to the systems response to child abuse cases. An interactive discussion will include the impact of child abuse on child victims, what advocates can do in providing response at various points of intervention including the criminal justice process, and case studies to understand the issues surrounding child abuse and what advocates can do to assist the victims.
