Course Description:
This course will provide victim advocates with current information on issues related to both child physical and child sexual abuse. Areas to be discussed include: detection of abuse, associated injuries, child abuse syndromes that impact child victims, case studies to understand the issues surrounding child abuse, and what advocates can do to assist the victim during the criminal justice process. In addition, participants will gain insight into the dynamics of the offenders, including parental abusers.
