Course Description:
Cultural competence is a core requirement in the field of victim assistance. This training prepares victim advocates to provide effective service delivery within diverse communities and to recognize and value the diversity of their clients. The training will help participants strengthen their knowledge of the obstacles clients experience in seeking victim services and explore how best to overcome or alleviate these obstacles. The course instructor specializes in marginalized communities living in social invisibility, such as undocumented immigrant Latinos and male victims of sex trafficking.
All hours for this course may be used towards FCPTI Victim Services Practitioner Renewal Requirements
