Course Location: This course will be held at the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office, Patrol Squad Room Entrance (far south side), 2621 Southeast Hawthorne Road, Gainesville, Florida 32640.
Course Description:
This annual interactive course is for both the novice and experienced advocate; and will cover any benefit cap changes. It will improve the advocate's ability to assist victims with compensation claims through quality submission of forms. Topics include: a better understanding of the eligibility criteria, specific types of compensable crimes, formulas and calculations of benefits, benefit caps, statutory guidelines, and claims processing procedures. In addition, discussion will include property loss, domestic violence relocation assistance, sexual battery forensic examination payments, and sexual battery relocation assistance.

All hours for this course may be used towards FCPTI Victim Services Practitioner Renewal Requirements
