Attorney General Pam Bondi has made ending Florida's prescription drug abuse epidemic a top priority for her administration. In support of this effort, General Bondi is pleased to present a series of statewide training workshops entitled, "Advanced Topics: Prescription Drug Diversion and Abuse.”
The workshop is intended to educate and inform attendees on the following: Overview of Florida law drug laws and a review of current case law, law enforcement access to Florida's Prescription Drug Monitoring Program, as well as a series of table top exercises to improve investigative techniques. These workshops will cover cases detailing over-prescribing doctors, "doctor shopping," pharmacy robberies, and various medical practitioner diversion methods.
Presenters will be from the Office of the Attorney General, Purdue Pharmaceuticals and the Alliance for Global Narcotics Training. Each workshop begins at 9:00 a.m. and concludes at 4:30 p.m.
This is not an entry level course: this training is designed for law enforcement officers who have attended previous prescription drug diversion and abuse training courses as well as law enforcement personnel who investigate prescription drug diversion cases. |
