Course Description:
In 1990, Florida adopted one of the toughest convenience store security laws in the nation and subsequently has experienced a dramatic reduction in violent crimes committed at convenience businesses. This one-day (8-hour) course is designed to cover all aspects of the Convenience Business Security Act and Administrative Rules. Participants will learn how to conduct convenience business inspections; familiarize with security standards and devices required by the law; and provide a model Robbery Deterrence and Safety Training Program. Upon completion of the course a certificate of attendance will be issued to all attendees. To become a certified inspector and obtain your inspection identification card, you must be employed by a state or local government agency and you must successfully pass an exam.
