Course Description:
With increasing media coverage of crime and incidents of mass violence, the media has given great visibility to victims of traumatic events. However, insensitive journal interviewing and reporting can sometimes cause further harm to survivors. This training will explore strategies to assist survivors with preparing for the media coverage as well as best practices for advocates to maximum on a collaborative media relationship.
