In response to requests for further SRO training, this class is a follow-up to the Intermediate Course, but taking the Intermediate Course is NOT a prerequisite to this class. This three-day course will enhance the skills of the experienced SRO, improving the School Resource Officer's productivity, and provide information on new trends in crime. There will be a review of new legislation and case law as it relates to the School Resource Officer. Participants will receive an overview of case studies of school shootings and violent situations, and they will be provided with information and strategies to strengthen team relationships with educators. In addition, participants will learn about Electronic Control Devices in schools, receive a gang update, and explore techniques for stress management.
*A prerequisite to this course is the SRO Basic Training Course. |
