Course Description:
This three-day course (24 hours) is designed as an update for those who completed the 40-hour Victim Services Practitioner Designation course. The Update course provides new information on the legal rights of crime victims, such as Marsy’s Law, and discusses the concept of restorative justice. It also offers skill development in the areas of competency across generations, death notifications in the age of social media and technology, and advocacy through the victim compensation program. Attendance is required for all three days to receive a certificate of completion. *Course attendance fulfills the Victim Services Practitioner Designation renewal requirments*
