Course Description:
As the population ages the potential for abuse from family members, caregivers or "trusted" individuals is a growing concern. Unfortunately, cases of abuse, neglect, and/or exploitation of elders are often under reported. Seniors have additional concerns that must be addressed in order to encourage reporting, provide services and help seniors maintain their quality of life. This course is modeled after the National Elder Abuse Training and will discuss the dynamics of elder abuse; how to identify elder victims; and how to appropriately respond to elders who are the victims of crime.

Instructor:
Angela Larson, Victim Service Supervisor and Corporal Paul Woolsey, Collier County Sheriff's Office.
