Course Description:
This three-day (24 hour) course is specifically designed for hospital security and safety personnel, architects involved in hospital design, facility management, and law enforcement personnel involved in crime prevention. During the three-day (24 hour) course participants will focus on CPTED concepts and design strategies with emphasis placed on the hospital environment. The participants will recognize the relationship between the design and use of space and how it affects criminal activity and human behavior. Participants will utilize the existing physical environment to reduce the opportunities for crime and implement CPTED strategies that meet their facility's risk management and fiscal parameters. Course attendees will take part in on-site security audits of a hospital.
