CPTED for Public & Multi-Family Housing is a three-day (24 hour) class specifically designed for individuals who have completed their CPTED Designation through FCPTI. This training will evaluate public & multi-family housing communities utilizing Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) strategies. Participants will assess the relationship between the design and the use of common space on public housing & multi-family properties and how it affects criminal activity and human behavior. Students will conduct a blueprint exercise for a current new construction project for recommendations relating to lighting, landscaping, parking and compliance with FL Statute 768.0706. At the completion of the exercise students will present the recommendations and see how they compare to the actual recommendations made to the developer. Attendees should be aware that basic CPTED principles are the foundation of this training and will be reviewed as part of the course curriculum. For experienced CPTED practitioners, the first day serves as a review of these concepts, with an emphasis on public housing and multi-family properties. This course is recommended for security staff, safety personnel, architects, property managers, and law enforcement personnel.
